We’ve been really pleased to hear your suggestions of places not to miss in the North Wessex Downs.

These include:

Walking from Streatley – in particular, through The Holies and Lardon Chase and over Lough Down where you will find glorious views over the Goring Gap
The Thames Path – you can read more about the Thame Path National Trail and other long distance routes on our website here
Ladle Hill near Old Burghclere – the walk up to the summit of Ladle Hill is delightful and at the top you will find an iron age hill fort and stunning views
Walking (or cycling) from Newbury to Hungerford along the canal
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust nature reserves, in particular Jones’s Mill, Hatgate and Ham Hill
Swanborough Tump – which can be visited on the Visit Pewsey Vale Woodborough Walk
