The North Wessex Downs National Landscape team have commissioned a review of access in the North Wessex Downs. The aims are to identify barriers to access, gaps in provision and opportunities to improve peoples’ enjoyment of the landscape. To inform this work, we are keen to understand the experiences and views of residents and visitors.

Improving access in the North Wessex Downs

The North Wessex Downs National Landscape team has commissioned The Environment Partnership Ltd (TEP) with Community First Partnership Ltd (CFP) to undertake the review of access in the North Wessex Downs. The work will address:

  • Pre-visit information
  • Transport to and from sites in the National Landscape
  • Physical access through the National Landscape
  • Socio-economic and cultural barriers to access
  • Improving the experience for people with neurodiverse conditions
  • Digital access, i.e. enjoying and learning about the landscape remotely

TEP’s commission is to deliver an independent piece of work, with recommendations made that will help the North Wessex Downs National Landscape team and partners to plan and prioritise access improvements. To inform their work, they are keen to understand the experiences and views of residents and visitors by carrying out a survey. This is open to anyone who lives in or visits the North Wessex Downs.

If you have any questions about this piece of work, please contact the North Wessex Downs National Landscape team: Contact Us.

The survey will remain live until midnight on Sunday 23rd February 2026.
