The Management Plan 2009 - 2014
The new Management Plan 2009 - 2014, launched in October 2009, is approved by the North Wessex Downs AONB Council of Partners and relevant local authorities. It builds on the original Management Plan, published in 2004, and the actions and projects completed since then.
The Management Plan presents an agreed agenda for the North Wessex Downs AONB, setting out objectives and policies for AONB partners that are realistic and achievable in the next five years. The Management Plan Working Group is taking forward the
Delivery Plan. More information will be added here in due course.

Delivery Plan
The original Management Plan was published In March 2004. This identified the issues affecting the management of the North Wessex Downs AONB. It offered a vision for the future of the area and practical actions to achieve it.
The Management Plan was published in three parts:
Landscape and Context - Ambition for the future. This describes the landscape of the North Wessex Downs and the key threats facing it. A series of objectives are set out that define the ambition for the North Wessex Downs over the next 20 years.
Policies for delivery. This looks at the ambitions and objectives for the North Wessex Downs to be delivered 2004 - 2009.
Action Plan. This identified specific actions for 2004 - 2009 to start delivering the ambitions.
