Farleigh Wallop Estate near Basingstoke is 1620 hectares, with arable and livestock including a dairy and beef herd. It is well known for its impressive house and the gardens are open to the public. The large woodlands are an important part of the landscape and are managed to benefit wildlife and the Farleigh Shoot.
The Earl of Portsmouth invites you to come and learn about the countryside. Find out about keeping dairy cows, growing wheat, barley, oilseed rape, poppies and beans. Explore the ancient woodland and learn from the foresters and gamekeepers how they preserve and maintain wildlife and the environment.
Hampshire Country Learning organises curriculum linked Countryside Days for schools on farm estates. Twilight briefing sessions are available before the open days along with support materials. To find out when this estate day is, log on to website below or contact Jo Britton.

How to book:
All educational visits to this estate are coordinated by Hampshire Country Learning. Please contact the education coordinator if you would like to arrange a visit. There is no charge but a donation of £1.00 per pupil is suggested.
