Manydown Estate near Basingstoke is 2024 hectares much of it typical Hampshire rolling farmland, interspersed with woodland and hedgerows. The home farm is a mixed farm enterprise with livestock and arable crops including morphine poppies grown for medical use.
See how farming and the countryside have been managed by the family for 150 years to maintain jobs, produce food and enhance our countryside. You can see wool spinning, sheep shearing, learn about the crops, the livestock and products that are sold in the farm shop.
Hampshire Country Learning organises curriculum linked Countryside Days for schools on farm estates. Twilight briefing sessions are available before the open days along with support materials. To find out when this estate day is, log on to website below or contact Jo Britton.
